9 Athletes Over 50 Who Are Still Better Than You

In honor of Barry Bonds turning 50 yesterday and him looking like he can still hit bombs (roids or no roids), it got us thinking about what other athletes over 50 still "have it." And by "have it" I mean athletes who are still better than me and can beat me in any sport or athletic event.

Most look like they haven't aged, some look even younger than they did when they were active players, and some are still involved for the love of the game. Here's a look at nine athletes over 50 who are still better and more athletic than you and who could beat you in anything.

9. Mike Ditka, Age 74

Leading the Chicago Bears to their only Super Bowl in 1985, Mike Ditka has immunity for life and could still crush us all on the field. #ditkaisgod

8. Karl Malone, Age 51

In all seriousness, the Jazz could really use him back. #gamechanger

7. John McEnroe, Age 55

Not even a chance ...

6. Jerry Rice, Age 51

He played 20 seasons in the NFL and looks like he could play 10 more!

5. Julio Franco, Age 55

At age 55, Franco is still playing in an independent league and shows the true meaning of for the love of the game. He doesn't look like he is slowing down any time soon! #GoJulioGo

4. Paul O'Neill, Age 51

He won five World Series titles. FIVE. At Old Timer's Day at Yankee Stadium in 2012 and 2013, O'Neill hit two home runs so yeah some would say he still has it ...

3. Wayne Gretzky, Age 53

The Great One. If he would have suited up for the New York Rangers in this year's Stanley Cup and things would have definitely been different.

2. Barry Bonds, Age 50

There is no doubt this newly turned 50-year-old can still hit bombs. Like I said before, steroids or no steroids, he would still beat the average joe on the field in all aspects (pitching, fielding and hitting).

1. Michael Jordan, Age 51

His Airness. There is no question. He can and will still school anyone on the court.
