8/21 CBS2 Friday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta
CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning, Tri-State!

A front will be passing the area this morning with some receiving pockets of heavy rain and isolated flooding. Worst of it: 3 a.m. - 9 a.m.

I believe the brunt of the damage will be north and west, where the topography can increase the likelihood for flooding. Water flowing down from mountains into steep valleys will be the biggest culprit for damage.

However, this system will clear pretty quickly and expect sunshine to return by mid afternoon for all. Today's high: 79-84°.

Saturday is looking better too! The Hudson Valley will be drier as high pressure nudges in first. Low pressure will have the chance to spin offshore and bring extra clouds to the south and east.

Sunday is a similar story with a storm risk. Monday: the heat & humidity return.

Check back in soon for the latest.
