8/16 CBS2 Sunday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

What a steamy Sunday it was! Despite clouds and a few stray showers, many folks reached the 90s...including Central Park with a high of 93! After a warm night with lows in the mid 70s, temps will surge into the low and mid 90s again tomorrow, so it looks like our first official heat wave will occur! Expect a high of 94 with plenty of humidity and sunshine.

Looks like the heat will stick around through the rest of the week, with upper 80s and low 90s the name of the game. Humidity will be running high as well, so it just won't be hot, it'll be muggy too! There's a slight chance for a few pop-up storms each day, but the best bet looks to be Thursday night into Friday as a front moves through the area. After that, looks like humidity values slowly start to drop.

Make sure you keep cool and keep it tuned for the latest info!
