Officials: Bronx Blaze Leaves 8 Injured, Including 7 Firefighters

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A Bronx fire has left eight people injured, including seven firefighters, officials said.

The blaze at 1267 Theriot Avenue in the Soundview neighborhood was reported shortly after 6 a.m. Sunday, fire officials told WCBS 880.

As of 8:45 a.m., the fire was still active.

The seven firefighters were all taken to Jacobi Medical Center -- six have minor injuries, and one is in serious but stable condition.

The other person was taken to Lincoln Medical Center with a minor injury.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire at the three-story building.
