7/25 CBS2 Monday Morning Weather Headlines

Good Monday morning everybody! Let's get right to it - we've got a hot and steamy day ahead! We'll start off around 80 this morning with a 20 percent shower chance, but then we'll get some sunny breaks and temps will soar. We'll top off at 93 in NYC, but the humidity will be sky high. Heat index values in New York City and New Jersey Metro should reach 100-105!
There will also be a risk for strong to severe thunderstorms in the PM ahead of the cold front. Storms could produce torrential rain, damaging wind, and even some hail. Looks like the most significant threat would be north/west of NYC, but can't rule out any stronger storms along the Jersey Shore or central Long Island.
Tuesday will be another hot day with much drier conditions. We'll top off at 92 with falling humidity behind the cold front. Wednesday looks like the "pick" of the week with temps around 90 and the lowest humidity.
