7/2 CBS2 Thursday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis, CBS2 Meteorologist

We'll see more in the way of clouds this afternoon. And to the south and east, we could even see a little light rain or a rumble of thunder. It will still be slightly humid with a high in the low 80s.

Some clouds will linger into tonight with a leftover shower chance across our southern and eastern counties. Here in the city, we can't rule out a passing shower, but it should remain generally quiet with lows slightly cooler than this morning... mid 60s.

Sunshine will filter through some high clouds tomorrow, but all things considered, it's looking like a pretty nice start to the holiday weekend! Expect less humid conditions and a high right around 80°.

The forecast gets a little tricky on the Fourth of July as we see some offshore moisture try to make its way inland. Much of the area should stay dry, but we're going to leave in a slight chance of showers for now. With some clouds overhead and an east wind in place, highs will struggle to reach the 80s... thinking upper 70s at the moment.

As for the evening firework displays, expect partly cloudy skies and mild temps in the low 70s... enjoy!

And Sunday, as of now, is looking pretty good with mostly sunny skies and a high in the mid 80s... pick of the holiday weekend!
