7/19 CBS2 Sunday Morning Weather

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Let's get straight to it - today and tomorrow will be two of the warmest days we've had all summer...and surging humidity will make it extremely uncomfortable. We're talking highs in the low 90s, feeling closer to 100...and even hotter in some spots.

Heat alerts go in effect late this morning and last until Monday evening for some. Expect a high of 92 in NYC today, upper 80s at the coasts, and low/mid 90s inland. It will feel closer to 100 degrees in NYC/NJ, and some spots in central/southern NJ will feel closer to 105. If you're hittin' the beach, expect plenty of strong sunshine - UV index will be at a 10 on the shores! Take extra caution if you have to work outside - plenty of water, light clothing, and frequent breaks from activity. There is a very slight chance for a pop-up storm or two late in the day, but the real concern today is the heat and humidity.

Another hot one tomorrow with a high of 90 along with a slight storm chance. Humidity values will fall later in the evening, but it'll be muggy anyway you slice it. Tuesday will be very warm with mid 80s and a better chance for storms.

Stay tuned for the latest!
