7-Eleven Store In Shirley Robbed At Knifepoint

SHIRLEY, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Police have confirmed a knifepoint robbery at a convenience store on Long Island.

The incident took place just before 2 a.m. Tuesday at a 7-Eleven store on William Floyd Parkway in Shirley.

A man displayed a six-inch knife, demanded cash and fled. No one was hurt.

So far, there's no indication it's part of a recent series of robberies across Nassau and Suffolk counties by a man using a knife or machete.
