6/5 CBS2 Sunday Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Sunday mornin' everybody! Let's get right to it - we have some potentially nasty weather to deal with today. We'll be starting off in the 60s with some showers and a few rumbles of thunder, but that will be an appetizer for later this afternoon. Unfortunately most of the day looks quite unsettled, so any beach or picnic plans don't look too great.

This afternoon & evening will be the greatest time period of concern as a warm front surges northeastward, bringing tons of moisture and source of energy for lift & spin. Showers & thunderstorms will become more likely heading through the late afternoon, and some could be strong to severe - gusty winds, torrential rain, and even some hail! Even though we'll be stuck in the 70s today, there will be plenty of "oomph" for storms to pack a serious punch...we'll keep you updated!

For Monday, things clear out and we're left with mostly sunny skies and temps back into the low & mid 80s.

Stay tuned for the latest!
