6/27 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Hey folks! Clouds will rule the skies as we head through the afternoon...but aside from a few light showers most of the day should be dry. It will be cool though - expect a high temp of only 71 in NYC with many other spots not even breaking 70. Expect steadier rain moving in late tonight with rounds of heavy rain overnight. A storm system will send waves of rain through the region with some thunderstorms a possibility as well. In terms of flooding concerns, looks like some isolated roadway/poor drainage stuff.

Rain tapers to showers tomorrow morning, and there could be a few breaks of sunshine Sunday afternoon! Overall it will be a warmer day with a max temp of 78 in NYC. We can't guarantee a totally rain-free evening on Sunday, but for the most part, the worst of the weather should be confined to the evening.

Monday will start off the new work week with mostly sunny skies and a few late-day clouds. Temperatures continue to rise with a high of 81 degrees. A few thunderstorms re-enter the picture Tuesday with more clouds and a high of 84.
