6/23 CBS2 Tuesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

The heat is on this afternoon with temps spiking around 90°. And when you factor in the humidity, it will feel more like the mid to upper 90s! Unfortunately, the heat and humidity will serve to fire up some storms, some of which could become severe. The good news is the activity only lasts until sunset or shortly after.

All of the storm activity comes to an end by the middle part of the evening with skies clearing in their wake. Lows will still be on the mild side in the upper 60s.

High pressure will nudge its way in from the west tomorrow allowing for a mainly sunny day. It will also usher in a drier wind, so it will be a bit less humid. Highs will still be on the warm side in the low to mid 80s.

Thursday we await another system to our west, but it looks like a weak area of high pressure will hold on just long enough to keep us mainly dry through the day... greatest threat will end up being some clouds. Expect highs in the low 80s.

Check back for more on the rest of the week!
