6/23 CBS2 Tuesday Morning Weather Headlines

Victoria Cavaliere
CBS2 Weather Intern

Good morning all,

As you wake up this morning, be prepared for more considerable heat. Today looks to be the hottest day of the week, and maybe the hottest day we've seen thus far, with an expected high of 90°.

And that's not including the humidity, which will make it feel like it is in the upper 90s in NYC and even hotter -- feeling like over 100° -- in parts of Central and South Jersey.

With this kind of heat comes the potential for severe weather, including thunderstorms and potentially heavy rain this evening -- especially south of the city.

After this cold front moves out of our area, temperatures do return to normal with sunshine Wednesday and lower humidity. But our chance for rain certainly doesn't end today - temperatures drop Thursday and Friday to the upper 70s, but so does the probability that we'll stay dry.

That's all I have for now, be sure to check back soon for more weather updates.
