6/13 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Saturday morning everybody! It's gonna be a steamy day across the tri-state, feeling like the middle of summer. After a muggy start to the day with lows only in the 70s, we'll reach an afternoon high of 87 degrees. It'll be a little cooler along the coasts, but quite toasty inland!

Plenty of sun through the day with a few clouds, but it will definitely be humid. Make sure to wear light clothing and drink plenty of water. If you're heading to the beach, make sure to pack the sunscreen as the UV index is way up there at a 9!

Tomorrow will be an OK day with both temps and humidity levels a bit lower. There will still be a mixture of sun and clouds but we will still warm up to the upper 70s and low 80s...82 should do it for NYC. There could be a few late afternoon/evening showers/thunder showers, but we'll keep you updated on that.

Looking ahead to Monday, we'll have more clouds and temps in the 70s, and a better chance for afternoon showers and thunderstorms. In fact, some of the storms could be strong/severe with damaging winds & small hail along with torrential rain. We'll keep you posted as we get the latest info. In the mean time, have a great Saturday!
