Police: Suspect Attacked Woman With Rubber Mallet At 96th Street No. 6 Train Stop
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Friday were trying to identify a woman they believe attacked someone with a rubber mallet in an Upper East Side subway station this week.
Around 9:35 p.m. Tuesday, the victim, a 21-year-old woman, was standing in the 96th Street No. 6 train station when she was attacked by an unidentified woman with a black rubber mallet, police said.
The victim suffered injuries to her head, police said. She was taken to Metropolitan Hospital Center for treatment, police said.
The suspect was described as a black female in her 20s, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 135 pounds, with a slim build.
Police released a photo that is believed to be of the assailant.
