Police: 5th Grade Boy Dead After Jumping From Window At Dumont, N.J. School

DUMONT, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A 10-year-old boy died Friday after police say he jumped from a second-story window at a school in Dumont, New Jersey.

Around noon Friday, the fifth grade boy plunged from the window at the Grant School, at 100 Grant. Ave. in Dumont, authorities told CBS2.

He fell about 25 feet, police said.

The boy was transported to Hackensack University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead Friday evening, authorities said.

The investigation continued late Friday.
