5/4 CBS2 Monday Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good mornin', folks! We don't advocate calling out from work, but you'll be hard pressed to find a better day than today to do it! The gorgeous sunny warmth we had over the weekend will continue into the work week. Expect abundant sunshine with a high of 82 degrees in NYC, which is 15 above normal! Spots along the coasts of LI, CT, and NJ will be considerably cooler with a nice breeze.

Tomorrow will be another warm day as we max out at 80, but more clouds will creep in ahead of a cold front that will set off some thunderstorms. No severe weather is expected, but a few storms could bring heavy rain and gusty winds. Behind the cold front, skies will clear out Wednesday morning, and we'll be back in the 70s.

As a matter of fact, we'll be in the 70s for the rest of the work week and into the weekend! All we can say is, it's about time!
