5/17 CBS2 Sunday Afternoon Weather

By Mark McIntyre
CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Hey folks! Hope you've been enjoying your Sunday so far. It'll end up being much warmer than yesterday with partial sunshine and a high of 83 degrees. Sadly, it won't remain totally dry. A few scattered showers/thunderstorms will pop up across the area. We still need the rain though, as last night's storms broke a 23 day-long drought!

Tomorrow will feature much cooler temps as a front sags south and winds come in off the ocean. We'll top off at 70 degrees, which is actually right about where we should be; however, it will be a rather damp, cloudy, and muggy day. And once again, we'll have the chance for showers.

Expect a bit of a warmup Tuesday with a high of 75. Tuesday also has the best bet for thunderstorms, some of which could be strong/severe! We'll keep an eye on those chances for you as new information comes into the CBS2 Weather Center. Then from there on out, expect dry and sunny conditions with temps in the 70s. Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!
