5/12 CBS2 Tuesday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis, Meteorologist/CBS2 Weekday Morning Weather Producer

The heat is on this afternoon as temperatures soar well into the 80s ... hottest day of the year! Outside of temperatures, expect blustery conditions and slight chance of a shower or storm this afternoon as our cold front swings through.

A few clouds will pass through tonight and our winds will keep up. Expect a mild low around 60°.

Cooler air will continue to rush in tomorrow in the wake of our cold front. That said, temps will come nowhere near where they did today... upper 60s or so at best. And hold on to your hats because it will still be blustery out there.

High pressure will park itself nearly overhead on Thursday. That said, expect mainly sunny skies and slightly warmer highs in the low 70s.

We'll slowly lose our grip on the aforementioned high pressure system on Friday, but we should hang on to mainly dry weather through the day. Expect just a few more clouds in the afternoon and highs in the low to mid 70s.

Check back for more on the pleasant weather ahead!
