4/23 CBS2 Thursday Evening Weather Headlines
By Giorgio Panetta
CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer
Good evening all,
We had a chilly one all day today. This morning saw low temps down below freezing up north. Barryville, New York started the day at 30 degrees. Central Park recorded a low of 41 degrees -- well below our average of 47 degrees.
Temps did not warm up too much by this afternoon. We topped off around 52 degrees with a biting west wind.
We did have a good risk of fire weather today due to the very low humidity. But thankfully, no major breakouts occurred.
Frost and freeze alerts are currently in effect through the morning hours. We only recover to the mid-50s by Friday's finish.
Check back in soon for the latest.
