4/18 CBS2 Saturday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

What a fantastic day it was across the Tri-State area - many folks saw their first 80 degree temps of the year! Some bad news though...a cold front will move through overnight and will get rid of the warmth, knocking temps into the 30s and 40s! Waking up there will be a crisp feel to the air, as NYC starts off at 49.

Expect a mix of sun and clouds tomorrow, with more clouds late. It will be MUCH cooler but still pretty nice overall. We're expecting a high temp in the mid 50s and low 60s...some coastal folks will be stuck in the low 50s though due to onshore winds.

Monday is going to be milder with a high of 67, but it also looks to be a total soaker, so make sure you have the rain gear ready. An energy-packed frontal system will tap into the Atlantic and Gulf waters, so all that moisture will combine with all the energy to provide rounds of moderate to heavy rain...we could even get some rumbles of thunder! A general 1-2" of rain is forecast, with highest amounts south and east. Things remain unsettled Tuesday morning with a few showers before some sun returns.
