4 Sports Cities That Have It Worse Than NYC

It's been a bad year for New York sports.

Let me rephrase: It's been a horrendous year for New York sports. But alas, this city has enjoyed plenty of great teams and moments over the last several years, something other metropolises haven't necessarily experienced.

Think you have it rough? Here are four locales whose fans would surely trade places in a heartbeat:

1. Buffalo

The Bills lost four straight Super Bowls and haven't been competitive in 15 years. The Sabres came close to a Stanley Cup in '99, only to have it taken away by Brett Hull in triple-overtime. These days, they're on the fast track to a first-overall draft pick. And then there's the snow. All the snow, everywhere.

2. Vancouver

The Canucks have never won a Stanley Cup. They've been to the finals three times and lost to New York teams in two of those -- the Islanders in 1982 and the Rangers in 1994. And if you're a basketball fan, your team currently plays in Memphis.

3. Cleveland

LeBron's back, so there's something to cheer for after all. Still, the city hasn't produced a pro sports championship since 1964.

4. Toronto

It's gotten to the point where fans are throwing their Maple Leafs jerseys on the ice. When you haven't won a Stanley Cup since 1967 and you play in the Mecca of hockey, that tends to have a negative impact. The Raptors have never won a title and the Blue Jays have essentially been a farm system for other MLB teams since the Joe Carter era ended.
