3/9 CBS2 Monday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Evening All,

We are into daylight savings time.  Finally!  The extra hours of daylight will do us some good.  We need to melt this snowpack and get back to normal.

This week looks like a good one to do it.  We will have temps in the upper 40s & low 50s.  These are critical temps for melting.  Once we get a momentum of temperatures we can melt quickly. Only problem is we are still cold at night.  Therefore the freezing temps slow the process.

Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy with rain returning west to east by afternoon.  After 3pm in NYC we will have on & off showers through midnight.  We then clear the system, and Wednesday could be a really mild one.

We will be near the warm front, so temps could soar.  Especially down the shore.  Check back in soon for the latest!
