35,000 Thruway Drivers Overcharged On E-Z Pass Bills Due To Electronic Error

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- If you use the Harriman toll barrier, you may want to check your E-Z Pass bill.

The New York State Thruway Authority said Thursday that an electronic error led to some 35,000 drivers being overcharged by a small amount.

Drivers who entered the northbound Interstate 87 from New York Route 17 in Woodbury between Aug. 14 and Sept. 5 were affected.

The Thruway said that the error has been corrected. Drivers will be credited on their next E-Z Pass statements.

Customers do not need to contact the Thruway Authority or E-Z Pass to receive a credit for overcharges.
