3/20 CBS2 Friday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta
CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning everyone,

Clouds are likely overhead right now before the snow, rain and mix arrives. A good portion of the area will see a widespread 2 to 5 inches, with some seeing more in the western New Jersey hills. A wind off the water will knock down some totals on eastern Long Island.

To the north, the Hudson Valley will be cold enough, but the snow will be less intense and more sporadic.

Those living down the Jersey Shore will see less due to rain. But those living in the northern portions of the shoreline could see 3 or 4 inches! There will be a pretty sharp cut-off of snow to rain.

The system looks to wrap itself up in the late evening clearing the East End around midnight.

Saturday is a bounce back to warmer temps and some melting. Expect a high near 50 degrees.

A cold front sweeps across Sunday knock temps down below normal yet again.

We do have a milder forecast in store next week. Check back soon for the latest.
