3/2 CBS2 Monday Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Monday morning everybody! Be extra careful heading out the door this morning. All the snow and ice we got with yesterday's storm is going to make for slick travel on the roadways, especially those secondary roads! We'll get some melting later on in the day with temps warming up to 40 degrees in NYC and a strong northwest wind...the wind will help melt & dry us out, but it will also make the 40 feel more like mid/upper 20s!

Tuesday features increasing clouds and our next storm system arriving for the evening commute. As of now, looks like we'll all start off with either snow or a snow/ice mix. Tough to say how much, but a quick few inches of snow is possible...The good news is that temps soar into the upper 40s and near 50 for Wednesday, so all that wintry stuff will change over to plain rain! Rain could be heavy at times Tuesday night, with a few rumbles of thunder possible as well. That leads us to our next problem - flooding. With heavy rain and recent snow/ice melting, local flooding will be a concern.

We'll be wintry again on Thursday after a cold front moves through with highs only in the mid 30s and a few passing snow showers, especially south/east of NYC.

At least spring is only 18 days away!!!
