3/19 CBS2 Thursday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good evening, all.

It's a chilly calm today before we ready the area for another snow event. The bulk of it will occur during the afternoon commute tomorrow.  A swath of 2-5" is expected west to east across northern/central New Jersey, stretching across Long Island.  Some of the higher elevations in western NJ will see the biggest totals due to said elevation.

Closer to the city, don't expect too much to stick to the roads because we have been quite mild.  We wrap up before midnight with the rain/snow line sliding north, capping totals down the Jersey Shore.

Saturday is a milder day with some melting of the fresh snow.  Most of the snow will stick to colder surfaces and grassy fields but that sun will melt some of it down.

Check back in soon for the latest.
