3/14 CBS2 Saturday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Matt DeLucia, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Afternoon All,

It's certainly a damp one out there today! Steady rain will continue into the afternoon, breaking up from west to east as we head into the early evening. Showers will then linger through the evening. Expect a general inch or so of rain by the time it wraps up. There could be some flooding issues where a lot of snow melting takes place, especially in the far northern suburbs.

Clouds will thin out a bit overnight into Sunday, and the second half of the weekend will be relatively better. Looks like a mix of sun and clouds, with temps once again around the 50 mark in the city. There will be some scattered showers around at times during the afternoon, maybe even a few flakes far to the north. The big story Sunday will be the winds, gusting to 35 mph at times.

Monday looks to start out nice, with sunny skies. We'll see increasing clouds during the day though, with the chance of a shower late Monday night and early Tuesday. It's looking okay for St. Patrick's Day, with partly sunny skies and temps in the upper 40s.
