30 With Murti Podcast: 2003 Game 7 Hero Aaron Boone
NEW YORK (WFAN) -- With the first Yankees-Red Sox series of the season set to begin Friday night up in Boston, Sweeny interviewed Aaron Boone for the latest installment of the "30 With Murti" podcast.
Boone, of course, is remembered for hitting the famous Game 7 home run against Boston in the 2003 ALCS. He has spent the last few years as an analyst for ESPN and is currently in his first season on Sunday Night Baseball.
Boone discusses being a member of the first three-generation baseball family in major league history (along with his grandfather, Ray, his dad, Bob, and his brother, Bret). Growing up in a big league clubhouse, Aaron shared his thoughts on the Adam LaRoche story, as well as reminiscing about his biggest on-field moment, the home run off Tim Wakefield that clinched the AL pennant for the Yankees.
You'll also hear Boone describe the moment his career in pinstripes ended, due to an injury suffered in a pickup basketball game. It was, as most remember, the event that led to A-Rod becoming a Yankee in 2004.
