3 World Trade Center Opens For Business

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- After years of delays and legal setbacks, the 80-story 3 World Trade Center is open for business.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held Monday morning.

It's the fourth out of five buildings to open at the Lower Manhattan complex. The building features two terraces, one on the 17th floor and the other on the 76th.

Owner Larry Silverstein said after 9/11, rebuilding the site was his company's civic responsibility along with creating the memorial to those lost in the terror attack.

"We were also charged with producing a more vibrant and connected neighborhood than any that had existed here before," he said.

At 1,079 feet, 3 World Trade Center is the fifth tallest building in New York City.
