9-Year-Old Girl, 2 Adults Shot Outside Yonkers Pizzeria

YONKERS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- Three people, including a 9-year-old girl, were shot and wounded Friday outside a pizzeria in Yonkers.

Shortly after 6 p.m., Yonkers police rushed to Pizza D'Ora, at 49 Palisade Ave. at Elm Street, after a report of shots fired in front of the pizzeria.

Responding officers found the 9-year-old girl with a gunshot wound to her chest. Also wounded were a 31-year-old woman who suffered a gunshot wound to the arm, and a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg.

All the victims were taken to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla. The girl was reported in critical condition and the man's condition was reported as stable, while the woman was treated and released.

None of the victims' injuries were believed to be life-threatening, authorities told CBS 2.

Contrary to earlier reports, police said the woman was not the 9-year-old girl's mother.

Police believe an unknown person opened fire outside the pizzeria, but some of the victims were inside at the time.

The Yonkers police Detective Division was investigating Friday night. Anyone with information was asked to call the division at (914) 377-7724, or send in an anonymous tip by texting the keyword YPD and the tip to 847411.
