2/8 CBS2 Monday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
Meteorologist

Some snow will linger into the afternoon with just some leftover light snow and snow showers for the PM rush, but mainly to the north and east of the city. Snowfall amounts from the city west will generally stay below and inch or so; snowfall across Long Island will be 2-4" across the west end to locally 6+" in the central and eastern parts.

On and off snow is still in the forecast tomorrow with only generally light amounts (trace to an inch or so) expected around the area, but several inches are possible south and west of the city. The time frame of the heaviest snow looks to be during the second half of the day into the evening... we'll be able to tighten up that time frame tomorrow.

Things should start to wind down on Wednesday with the return of some sunshine and even colder temperatures for the second half of the week.
