2/5 CBS2 Thursday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Hello everyone,

Some snow will make its way to the surface this morning. Most of the travel troubling snow will stay north of NYC. Flakes will make their way down here, but much less snow is expected. See map...

A bigger weather story will be the crashing temps after the arctic front passes. Tomorrow afternoon will be in the lower 20s. Degrees just keep peeling off as the hours roll -- so low in fact, that by Friday morning, Central Park (which is notoriously mild) will be in the single digits.

By Friday afternoon, we get a little warm-up. I mean little. High: 24.

Saturday is milder with highs near the upper 30s. But we start the "snow train", as I'm calling it. From late Saturday night through early Tuesday there is the indication that we may be under an extended period of light snow. Moderate bursts of snow are also expected.

Check back in soon for some early totals and more detailed analysis.
