2/28 CBS2 Saturday Evening Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good evening folks! As we close out the final hours of February, I'm sure we'll be glad to say good riddance. Not only was it a stormy month with snow and ice, but it was much colder than normal! Expect another cold night ahead (but not as bad as last night) as we dip to a low of 20 in NYC.

Remember the saying about March? "In like a lion..."? It'll hold true this year as we have another winter storm to deal with tomorrow PM. Expect a quick shot of snow changing over to rain through late Sunday night. Still thinking 1-3" is a good bet in NYC and through most of central NJ and LI. Higher amounts of 3-6" more likely for NW NJ, Lower Hudson Valley, and CT. Folks down on the Jersey Shore may get up to an inch before the change to rain. Temps tomorrow are hovering right around freezing, with a bump to 40 degrees for Monday under clearing skies.

Things cool off temporarily Tuesday as clouds thicken and we only top off in the mid 30s, but we'll warm up nicely to the upper 40s (maybe some 50 degree readings) on Wednesday, along with periods of rain.
