2/25 CBS2 Wednesday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good evening, all!

Today felt pretty good with highs in the mid-30s! Clouds are on the increase as we speak.

A low pressure system currently in the south will track offshore of the Carolinas and turn up the Eastern Seaboard. The outer edges of the storm will clip us. Not much is to be expected, but this storm is dumping 4-8" of snow (locally higher) in the Southern Appalachians.

We are expecting a coating to 2" or so. We will be cold for the remainder of February.  We're so cold in fact that we are in the third coldest February of all time. The next spot on the list dates back to 1885! We might be able to do it.

The weekend is cold, but no precipitation is expected. We'll keep an eye on late Sunday as another coastal low track our way.  Check back in for the latest.
