2/23 CBS2 Monday Morning Weather Headlines

By Mark McIntyre, CBS2 Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Monday morning everybody! The cold is returning to our area today, with temps dropping into the teens this afternoon, and then single digits late tonight! Be careful on the roads because after yesterday's melting, the refreezing will cause slick spots. Expect plenty of sunshine throughout the day with a few flurries far north and west...but the sunshine won't do much.

As mentioned, another shot of cold air arrives tonight, with single digits and even some subzero temps in the N/W 'burbs. Expect a low of 5 degrees in NYC. BRRR!!! It's going to be another below normal day - in fact, out of the past 28 days, 26 days have been below normal temps-wise..only 2 of those 28 we were able to make it to normal. February has been a very cold month indeed!

Expect some snow showers Tuesday night into Wednesday before we "warm up" to the mid 30s on Wednesday...one good note is that Spring is less than a month away...that's something to look forward to!
