22 Years In Prison For Westchester Man Who Strangled Wife

WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- A Westchester County computer programmer was sentenced to 22 years in prison Tuesday for strangling his wife.

The sentence for Christopher Howson was announced by Westchester County District Attorney Janet DiFiore.

He pleaded guilty to manslaughter in May for killing Theresa Gorski in their Sleepy Hollow home. Gorski was a part time staff attorney for the Bronx Legal Aid Society.

On Jan. 5 of last year, prosecutors said Howson called 911 around 3 a.m. stating that he had strangled his wife.

She was on a ventilator for four days before she died.

Authorities have said the couple's daughters were home when the killing occurred. They were 5 and 8 at the time.
