2/16 CBS2 Monday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis, CBS2 Meteorologist

Bitterly cold temperatures will be the talk through sunset, struggling to even get out of the teens! The good news is the winds will ease up a bit, so it won't feel as harsh.

Clouds fill in tonight ahead of our next system with snow filling in by the overnight hours. The snow will be light to moderate through the rush and late morning hours before we see it exit around midday.

Total snow accumulations in the city are expected to be 3-5 inches with slightly higher amounts across Ocean County. The remainder of the day stays chilly with perhaps some breaks of sun towards sunset.

A reinforcing cold front will serve up a few more snow showers around the area on Wednesday with high in the upper 20s and likely our warmest day of the next few.

By Thursday we're stuck in a deep freeze again with highs barely reaching 20 degrees. But with the breeze, it will only feel like -10 to 10 degrees!

Check back for more on our snow event and the cold week ahead!
