Pitbull Found Tied To Shopping Cart, Abandoned Behind Commack Walmart

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The Suffolk County SPCA is hoping you can help them identify a person of interest after a pit bull was abandoned behind a Wal-Mart in Commack.

The dog was found tied to a shopping cart Tuesday.

Veterinarians determined the pit bull was about 2 years old and had a skin disease, possibly due to malnutrition.

The dog was lactating and SPCA investigators are concerned about the whereabouts of her puppies.

The SPCA is offering a $2,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for abandoning the dog.
