Police: 2-Year-Old Found Safe After Father Left Her With Friend To Steal Packages From Residential Building

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - A two-year-old girl has been found safe after being reported missing Thursday afternoon in Washington Heights.

Police say the child was found a few hours later with her mother in Yonkers.

Earlier in the day, the little girl was with her father but authorities say he left the girl with a friend.

The father was arrested for allegedly stealing packages from a residential building just a short time later.

That man now faces burglary charges.

It turns out the alleged porch pirate's friend had dropped the child off with her mother after he left.
