2 Women In Serious Condition After Being Pulled From Apartment Fire

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Firefighters rescued two women from a burning apartment on Saint Mark's Place Sunday.

The FDNY said the flames broke out around 7 a.m., trapping the women inside.

They were pulled from the fire unconscious and rushed to a hospital in serious condition, CBS 2 reported.

A man who escaped the fire on his own suffered smoke inhalation, officials said.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
