2 Men Charged With Murder In Fatal Elizabeth Shooting

ELIZABETH, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) - Two northern New Jersey men have been charged with felony murder in the street shooting death of a New York City man killed during a botched robbery last month.

Union County prosecutors say 41-year-old Mamuka Chamiashvili of Brooklyn was responding to an online ad when he came to the Elizabeth area on Sept. 16 to test drive a Mercedes-Benz sport utility vehicle.

When the test drive ended, he allegedly was approached by 28-year-old Ali Garner and 29-year-old Keon Lewis, both of Elizabeth. Chamiashvili was shot a short time later, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Bail was set a $2 million each for Lewis and Garner, and it was not known Tuesday if either man had retained a lawyer. Each man could get a life sentence if convicted.
