2 Malnourished Dogs Found Abandoned In Paterson, N.J.

PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- There was hope Monday night for two malnourished dogs found abandoned in a park in Paterson, New Jersey.

The dogs, believed to be about six months old, were found by a jogger Monday morning at Eastside Park in Paterson, officials said.

Both are pit bull mixes, and were extremely malnourished.

The dogs have heart murmurs, and it appeared that they had been neglected for some time, officials said.

But animal control officers told CBS 2 the dogs are being nursed back to health and were to be put up for adoption once they were strong enough.
