2 Major Fires In Paterson, New Jersey; Person Found Dead In One

PATERSON, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- Two major fires broke out in Paterson, New Jersey Tuesday evening, and a person was found dead in one of the blazes.

The first fire started around 7:20 p.m. in a two-story house at 99 Pearl St. in Paterson, fire officials told CBS2.

A woman was found dead in the fire, officials said. The house was vacant and had no residents, officials said.

The second fire broke out around 7:40 p.m. at Fifth Avenue and East 16th Street in Paterson, officials said.

No one was seriously injured in that blaze.

Information about the causes and origins of the fire was not available Tuesday night.
