2 Bodies Found In Raritan River In Perth Amboy

PERTH AMBOY, N.J. (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Two bodies were found in the Raritan River in New Jersey Saturday, but authorities said the deaths do not appear to be related.

Both bodies were found Saturday morning in the river near the Victory Bridge in Perth Amboy, but neither body has been identified.

One body was an adult of an unspecified gender, the other of a boy.

Perth Amboy police told NJ.com that the bodies were found by a state police marine unit involved in an ongoing search for a man who had reportedly jumped from the bridge earlier this week. But it appears the other victim jumped off the nearby Driscoll Bridge.

Authorities have said marine units found some clothing in the water during previous searches. But it was not clear Saturday if the clothing was connected to either victim.
