1/8 CBS2 Thursday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good Morning!

It's the coldest morning of this winter by far, and the coldest air since last February. Starting temps: basically -2 to 10 above. Now add a wind gust of 25-35 mph, and now were talking feels like of -10 down to -30 degrees!

The National Weather Service has issued a Wind Chill Warning for part of Ulster County. Now, they only issue a warning if it's close to frostbite potential. So if you live there, please take it seriously -- these temps are dangerous.

Winds will stay pretty steady in the 20 mph range. After sunset tonight temps will fall off again -- not nearly as low, however.

Tonight's lows will drop down to the teens. Friday, we rebound to near freezing. A few show showers will accompany another clipper system that will drop a coating of snow to part of the Tri-State.

Saturday's temps drop down to the upper 20s again, and we rebound Sunday.
