17 Siblings In Ocean County, NJ Share $20 Million Pick-6 Lottery Jackpot

BEACHWOOD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- There's one family in New Jersey that probably won't be squabbling over money anytime soon.

Seventeen brothers and sisters from Ocean County came forward to share a $20 million lottery jackpot.

The Endreson family pooled their money for a decade to buy a lottery ticket and they hit the New Jersey Pick-6 jackpot last month.

One of the sisters bought the winning ticket, but didn't check it for two weeks.

"She had really no idea what it was worth and she turned it in and one teller looks at it, before you know it there are three tellers and they call someone else over," 69-year-old Jonas Enderson said at a Thursday news conference.

The Endreson clan, who range in age from 53 to 76, said they will also share the money with three children of a brother who died a few years ago.

The family chose to take the lump sum cash payout of $14 million, leaving $10 million after taxes.

Some of the money will be used to replace four homes lost by family members during Superstorm Sandy.
