1/7 CBS2 Wednesday Evening Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Hello Everyone,

Today is as bitter and cold as some of last years coldest temps. Temps are falling off the thermometer at a rapid rate. Since 4 p.m., temps have fallen off 5-7 degrees.

Overnight, temps will fall to zero or even below zero north and west. Closer to the water, temps will only climb about 10 degrees.

OK, now we factor in the winds gusting up to 40 mph and we can drive those numbers way down. See the graphics to locate how cold it will be where you live.

Everyone will be cold. But some will be dangerously cold, and approach frostbite-inducing conditions.

Friday will warm up some (near 32). But light snow is accompanies the warm up and a coating is possible.

Check back in soon for a weekend outlook and a sneak peek at next week!
