1/5: CBS2 Monday Afternoon Weather Headlines

By Justin Lewis
CBS Meteorologist

The remainder of this afternoon will be very cold with steady or slowly falling temperatures. And with the wind, it will only feel like 20-25°, so bundle up!

Winds will keep up into the evening hours with temperatures tumbling into the low 20s towards daybreak. Clouds will increase overnight, but don't expect the snow to show up just yet.

Light snow will overspread the area tomorrow morning and eventually into the afternoon. Snowfall amounts will be generally light, but some areas could be doing some light shoveling when all is said and done... up to a couple inches by mid evening. It will remain below freezing through the day, but the winds won't be as harsh.

We'll see the winds pick up on Wednesday with the passage of the arctic front... can't even rule out a flurry. Highs will once again fall short of freezing and wind chills will only be in the teens at best!

Thursday will easily be the coldest day of the season with highs struggling to even reach 20°; wind chills will only be in the single digits!
