1,400 Customers In Woodbridge, N.J. Lose Power After Transformer Fire

WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A transformer failure cut power to 1,400 customers Wednesday in Woodbridge, New Jersey.

The transformer caught fire, and a high-voltage line was left hanging from a tree at King Georges Post Road at 5:45 p.m., police said.

Public Service Electric & Gas reported 1,400 customers were affected by the outage in the Fords section of Woodbridge.

All power had been restored by 8:45 p.m.
