1/30 CBS2 Friday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Morning everyone!

We have some light snow falling across parts of the Tri-State. The clipper is moving east as forecast and picking up a little bit of energy as it passes the city and gains strength over the milder water.

A general coating to an inch is expected for most, while some north and some east are closer to 2, maybe 3 inches in a higher elevated zone.

Regardless of what basically minor amounts are on the ground when said and done, the sun will shine again by afternoon and then... temps PLUNGE. Temps will crash all afternoon, bottoming out Saturday morning with a temp of 10 degrees. We only rise into the lower 20s by afternoon.

Sunday into Monday brings another chance for snow. Looks like a 6- to 12-inch storm, but its heading just south of NYC as of today.

But we know how things change, so stay tuned for the latest!
